Project Completion: Sackville Ferry Rd Shoulder Widening, Road Reconstruction
- August 16, 2020
TOBCO is proud to announce that we have completed a project, “Sackville Ferry Rd Shoulder Widening, Road Reconstruction and Associated Works” for The Hills Shire Council.
TOBCO over the last few weeks completed the shoulder widening and associated works as principal contractor for the Hills Shire Council. The scope included the construction of site access and site amenities, Traffic management, protection of utility services, clearing, grubbing, demolition and disposal of existing road and asphalt, milling and asphalt overlay of the entire section, line marking and the installation of a guardrail and solar powered speed activated signs.
We excavated and widened the existing road by constructing a new subgrade and base layer. After the earthworks we spray sealed the widening. When the widening was complete, we re profiled the road to the design levels by milling and an AC20 correction layer. After the profiling, we overlayed the entire road with AC14 asphalt.
Additional works included the construction of property driveways, landscaping works including mulch to batter zones, supply and installation of speed activated electronic LED signs, supply and installation of pavement marking and retroreflective pavement markers, Supply and installation of W-Beam rail complete with end terminals to meet the requirements of RMS MASH TL-2 compliance.
Business Owners Sam Turnbull & Glen O’Brien was delighted to have completed another roadworks project and congratulated the construction team who have successfully completed the project safely and on time.
Our vision is to undertake further work as the principal contractor for local government authorities such as the Hills Shire council. This project demonstrates TOBCOs unique ability to deliver Civil and Electrical works.
This project was delivered entirely by TOBCOs own people and plant, reinforcing our capabilities to self-perform projects as a principal contractor.
TOBCO will be working hard in the following years to grow the CIVIL business to ensure it is one of the strong performers in its five core business units.
