Project Update: Enhancing Balmoral Esplanade with TOBCO
We’re thrilled to announce that TOBCO has officially kicked off a transformative project along Balmoral Esplanade! Known for its scenic beauty, Balmoral is a beloved spot for both locals and visitors, and this upgrade aims to enhance the area’s safety, visibility, and overall ambiance. Project Overview TOBCO is tasked with upgrading the street lighting along the entire stretch of Balmoral Esplanade. This improvement will increase visibility and create a brighter, more inviting atmosphere that everyone can enjoy, day and night. Environmental Commitment At TOBCO, environmental stewardship is integral to our approach. To protect the natural beauty of Balmoral, we are using our VAC Truck to perform non-destructive digging around trees during the installation process. This ensures that the roots of trees along the esplanade remain undisturbed, safeguarding the area’s green canopy while delivering a modern lighting solution. What’s Next Our team is hard at work to bring this project to life, prioritising quality, safety, and respect for the surrounding environment. We look forward to delivering a project that enhances Balmoral Esplanade’s charm and usability for all. Project Update: Advancing Infrastructure in the Armidale Region with Tobco
We are making notable progress on our significant infrastructure initiative in the Armidale region, centred around the upgrade and replacement of three pivotal bridges: Boorolong Creek Bridge, Bakers Creek Bridge, and Laura Creek Bridge. As part of our ongoing commitment to the Armidale Regional Council and the community, we are dedicated to constructing robust and reliable structures that cater to the future needs of our communities. Currently, our focus is on the Boorolong Creek Bridge. To ensure uninterrupted connectivity, a temporary bridge has been erected, allowing traffic to continue its usual flow across the creek. With the dismantling of the old bridge now complete, preparations are well underway for the construction of its state-of-the-art successor. Key to this phase is a temporary crossing, equipped with an 80-tonne piling rig, pivotal for the laying of the new bridge’s foundations. This setup will be dismantled closer to the project’s culmination, paving the way for the final structure. https://youtu.be/gFTrhIEoaLg?si=z9MvXTgqHFNwG205 Stay connected with us for further insights and updates on this transformative project. Innovation and Preservation: Tobco’s Sustainable Bridge Reconstruction at Sydney Olympic Park
TOBCO has been meticulously navigating a complex and environmentally sensitive project, rebuilding three bridges at Sydney Olympic Park. As we strive for infrastructure improvements, the preservation of our natural surroundings remains a top priority. Our team has worked closely with Environmental Compliance Officers from the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, ensuring the protection of existing mangroves, endangered frog habitats, and local swan populations throughout the process. We’re proud to report that the program was delivered effectively with zero safety or environmental incidents. Our bridge reconstruction scope of work included: Removal of existing, deteriorating bridge decks and secondary support members Treatment of exposed structural steel elements Replacement of secondary support members with Fibre Reinforcement Polymer (FRP) structural members Replacement of timber decking with FRP perforated walkway, secured with stainless steel fasteners Management of pedestrian thoroughfare to minimise disruptions Crane operation and securing to the existing foundation support system We’re thankful for the dedicated professionals who have made this achievement possible and excited to continue contributing to the progress of our communities. Building Bridges for the Future: Tobco Commences Major Infrastructure Project in Armidale Region
TOBCO is delighted to announce the commencement of construction for three important bridges: Boorolong Creek Bridge, Bakers Creek Bridge, and Laura Creek Bridge, a significant project undertaken for the Armidale Regional Council. This infrastructure development project marks our commitment to constructing robust and reliable structures to better serve our communities. This comprehensive project encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. Initially, our teams will be focused on constructing access tracks that will ensure the smooth movement of construction machinery and materials to the project sites. We will also install temporary vehicular bridges, aimed to minimise disruption to local traffic and maintain connectivity during the construction phase. Once we have set the groundwork, the project will progress to the demolition of the existing bridges. Following the safe and controlled dismantling of the structures, our attention will turn to the construction of the new concrete bridges. This phase of the project will involve meticulous planning and implementation to ensure that the new structures are sturdy, durable, and fit for purpose. Alongside the bridges themselves, additional safety features will be installed including guardrails and approaching slabs. Scour protection measures will be put in place to protect the bridge foundations from water erosion, enhancing the longevity of the structures. Furthermore, the area around the bridges will also be improved. The access road pavement will be reconstructed to provide a smooth transition onto the bridges, and the region will be marked with appropriate signage and line marking to guide the road users. Once the new bridges are ready for use, the temporary access tracks and bridges will be safely removed. The project will be rounded off with thorough landscaping and remediation work, ensuring the areas surrounding the bridges are restored and enhanced to blend seamlessly with the new structures. Tobco’s North Nowra Project: A Success Story in the Energy Sector
TOBCO proudly announces the successful completion of its first project on Endeavour Energy’s civil panel, located in North Nowra. This project showcases our expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions for the energy sector. The North Nowra project entailed the supply and installation of high voltage (HV) ducts, as well as the subsequent installation of HV cables. TOBCO’s team tackled several complexities during the project execution, ensuring minimal disruption to the local community while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. During the course of the project, our crews had to work around multiple services in the trench alignment. To overcome these challenges, we employed a combination of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and bed bores. This innovative approach allowed us to minimise disruption to the community while maintaining efficient project progress. Our team encountered significant quantities of rock throughout the project, which required careful planning and execution. Despite this challenge, we managed to complete the project within the forecasted timeframe, showcasing our adaptability and resilience in overcoming obstacles. We are proud to report that the North Nowra project was completed successfully, earning the satisfaction of our client. This accomplishment not only demonstrates our ability to deliver on complex projects, but also reaffirms TOBCO’s position as a trusted partner in the energy infrastructure sector. With the successful completion of the North Nowra project, TOBCO looks forward to future opportunities to collaborate with Endeavour Energy and other key players in the energy sector. Our experience and commitment to excellence ensure that we are well-equipped to tackle a diverse range of projects, delivering outstanding results for our clients and the communities we serve. North Sydney Council: Smart Pole Installation
TOBCO have recently completed a complex project for North Sydney Council which involved the installation of nine smart poles to improve the visibility for residents and commuters. The complexities of this project involved working in highly congested areas with frequent traffic movements and multiple contractors working in the vicinity of the works. All in all, a successful project and TOBCO look forward to furthering their relationship with North Sydney Council. This project was completed in two stages to allow for contractor efficiency and to ensure overcrowding did not occur. TOBCO’s scope involved detailed investigation followed by the design and construction of custom smart pole footings due to the density of existing utilities in the smart pole locations. The presence of these utilities made it very difficult for trenching and conduit installation, which is where TOBCO’s experienced workforce made a big difference. TOBCO’s internal traffic management staff played a pivotal role in the successful completion of this project. With multiple contractors working on busy North Sydney CBD streets, a high level of detail and expertise is required to ensure everyone’s safety and efficiency.
