 In Civil & Electrical Infrastructure

TOBCO has successfully reached the first major construction milestone for the New England Solar Farm, with the completion of 9km of access roads to facilitate the next stage of the 720MW solar Farm.

TOBCO’s scope of works included

  • Clear and Grub alignment
  • Bulk earthworks to widen and level road alignment
  • Installation of drainage infrastructure including culverts, subsoil drainage, rock mattresses, table drains and floodways

  • TFNSW upgrade of the New England Highway and Barleyfields rd Intersection

TOBCO was engage 12 months ago and was able to overcome a number of challenges throughout the construction process to successful delivery the project. These major challenges included COVID shutdowns, 90 days of inclement weather and freezing conditions.

The first stage of the New England Solar Farm (NESF) is a 400MW construction which can now commence due to the all-weather access provided by TOBCO. Once fully constructed, the New England Solar Farm, near Uralla, in New South Wales will produce enough energy to power approximately 250,000 typical NSW households each year.

This project will bring significant value to the local community with up to 500 direct construction jobs during the construction period, generating employment opportunities for locals from Uralla and the surrounding region.

TOBCO successfully engaged with the local community and sourced local materials and employed personnel from the New England Region. All of which contributed to the success of the project.
